With the Spaceview 2020, time has just changed — again. Accutron's Proprietary Electrostatic Movement. The electrostatic energy is created by twin turbines that rotate as a result of human motion at incredible speeds between two electrodes affixed to the movement. The energy, stored in an accumulator, powers two motors; a world’s first electrostatic motor fueling the fluid second hand and a step motor powering the hour and minute hands.
Power saving function: To ensure power saving, the second hand automatically stops at 12 o'clock after 5 minutes of non activity. Your timepiece continues to keep time, the hour hand and the minute hand keep moving. When you would like to see the second hand's motion, please swing arm fully up and down for 3 to 5 seconds. Once powered, the second hand gradually returns to the current second indication and the power save function is canceled.
The Dial features Smoke grey open-work dial with signature Accutron green accents and transparent outer ring. Light green super luminous markers, white hour and minute hands and orange second hand. Stainless steel case and bezel with stamped Accutron logo and turbine design on the case back. The Watch Band is a Matte green genuine American alligator strap – ethically sourced in the US under the guidance of the US Fish & Wildlife Regulations and all CITIES regulations for International Trade – with easy release spring bar and double-press deployant closure.
